China Levies Duties on Nylon Resin

After about six months of investigation, China Ministry of Commerce confirmed that there was dumping in polyamide 6 chip import and the dumping has damaged China's polyamide 6 industry. Therefore, from Oct 20, 2009, China will impose preliminary antidumping duty on polyamide 6 chips from United States, European Union, Russia and Taiwan (Notice No.80, published on Oct 19).

Review
China Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced on Apr 29 that it would start investigation on polyamide 6 chips originated from United States, EU, Russia and Taiwan.
The products involved in the case are under the import and export tax code 39081019.
The investigation is conducted to see whether there is dumping and whether and how the dumping has damaged China's polyamide 6 industry. Generally, the probe should be finished before Apr 29, 2010 but it can be extended to Oct 29, 2010 if necessary.
